In Holded, you can flexibly manage your accounts by connecting, disconnecting, archiving, unarchiving, and deleting them, according to your needs. Here's how to do it.

Connecting or disconnecting an account

If you need to link or unlink a bank, card or payment gateway account, follow these steps:

  1. From the list, select the account, card or gateway you wish to activate or deactivate.

  2. In the upper right corner, select Connect or Disconnect, as appropriate.

  3. If you are connecting the account, enter your account information and login credentials (document type and number, password, etc.), and click Connect.

If you are disconnecting the account, remember that this option is useful when synchronization is not working properly. You can only disconnect accounts subject to synchronization processes, such as banks, gateways and cards.

Archive a bank account

If you no longer need to use one of your Bank, Card, Gateway or Cash accounts, Holded allows you to archive and restore it whenever you need it.

  1. In the list, select the Bank, Card, Gateway, or Cash account you want to archive.

  2. Click on the three-dot menu (⋮) located in the upper right corner.

  3. Click on "Archive".

Your account will be moved to the “Archived” list. To view it, go to Treasury > Accounts and apply the Archived accounts filter.

☝🏼 Once archived, payments and receipts for that account will be marked as “Unassigned”.

Unarchiving a bank account

If at any time you wish to restore a previously archived account:

  1. In the list, apply the filter for archived accounts.

  2. Select the account you wish to restore.

  3. Click the “Unarchive” button at the top right.

Your account will reappear in the general list.

Deleting a bank account (not recommended)

⚠️ Before deleting a bank account

Deleting a bank account is an irreversible action and not recommended in most cases. If a bank account is not syncing correctly, there is no need to delete it. Instead, we recommend:

  • Disconnecting and reconnecting the account, or

  • Archiving it, if you no longer use it.

🚨 You should only delete a bank account if it is new, was created by mistake, and has never had any movements or reconciliations.

How to delete a bank account

To permanently delete an account, it must first be archived. Once archived, follow these steps to delete it:

  1. Filter by “Archived”, and select the account you wish to delete.

  2. Open the three-dot menu (⋮) in the upper right corner.

  3. Click on Delete.

☝🏼 When you delete a bank account, it will be removed permanently. Payments and collections will appear as “Unassigned”, and the related accounting entries will remain linked to the same ledger account.

For this reason, we do not recommend deleting bank accounts that have already been used and contain movements or payments. This action should only be used for new accounts that have never been used.
