From the Projects section, you can create new projects to plan tasks, assign members, and control profitability based on the billing method and budget you use.
How to create a new project
Follow these steps:
Go to Projects.
Click New project.
Choose one of the available templates.
You can filter by department type using the dropdown on the right.
The Blank project option includes all available features.
Click Next to confirm the template.
Complete the basic information:
Name.
Privacy.
If needed, click Show advanced options.
Click Create to confirm.
☝🏼 You can complete the advanced options later from Configuration > Billing.
Advanced options when creating a project
When you click Show advanced options, you can configure additional settings related to billing and cost control:
Contact: select the contact associated with the project.
Due date: indicate the project deadline if needed.
Billing: enable this option to define how the billable amount will be calculated:
Project hourly rate: all worked hours will be billed at the same hourly rate.
Hourly rate per member: the amount will depend on the hourly rate assigned to each employee.
Hourly rate per billing category: billing is calculated according to the rate defined for each type of work (category).
Fixed rate: all recorded hours will have the same cost, regardless of the employee or category.
Cost forecast: if you enable this option, you can set limits to control resource usage:
Total cost per member: defines a maximum budget for each user.
Total cost per billing category: each type of work (category) has a cost limit.
Total hours per project: sets a maximum number of working hours for the entire project.
Hours per billing category: the project budget depends on the hours logged per category.
Hours per member: defines a maximum number of hours per team member.

Can I create a project without configuring billing?
Yes. Advanced options are optional, and you can complete them later from the project configuration.
Which template should I choose when creating a project?
It depends on the type of work and department.
If you need all available features, you can select Blank project.
Can I change the rate or budget after creating the project?
Yes. You can modify the advanced options from Projects > Configuration > Billing.
Is it mandatory to associate a contact when creating the project?
It is not mandatory at the time of creation.
However, it will be required if you want to invoice the project.
What is the difference between an hourly rate and a fixed rate?
The hourly rate calculates billing based on the time recorded.
