Start operating with your products, your stock and your orders

1. Create a test product

To create your first product in Holded, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Inventory > Products in the navigation bar.

  2. Click the "New Product" button in the upper right corner:

  3. Enter basic product information, including a name and description.

  4. Include, if you need it, information related to sales, purchases and manufacturing, tracking, stock management, options (add variants such as size, color, etc., batches, or serial numbers from here), and accounting.

  5. Complete your product chart including tags and categories, and upload an image to appear in your documents and catalog.

  6. Click the "Save" button to save the product.

Your product will be visible in the list, in Inventory > Products.



2. Add your product to a sales invoice

Once your trial product is created, you can follow these steps to add it to a trial sales invoice:

  1. From the list, identify your test invoice.​

  2. Click the three-dot ( ⋮ ) button > Edit.

  3. Under "Concept", find and select your trial product, enter the quantity of the product you want to add to the invoice and, if necessary, modify the price.

  4. Click "Save".


3. Create a product from a sales invoice

You can also create a product directly from a sales invoice.

  1. Go to Invoicing > Invoices, and identify your invoice in the list.

  2. Click the three-dot ( ⋮ ) button > Edit.

  3. Below the product above, select "+ Add line".​

  4. Under "Concept," define a name for your new test product.

  5. You will see that to the right of "Concept" the "+" button will appear; click there.

  6. Under "Add item", choose Product.

  7. Defines the details of the product (price without taxes, SKU, tax percentage, tags, cost, description, stock).

  8. Click "Save."


4. Delete the test invoice

Once your test invoice is created, you can delete it so that the related accounting entries disappear (neither the contacts nor the products or services that you created when generating the invoice will be deleted).

  1. Go to Invoicing > Invoices, and select one or multiple invoices.

  2. Click Delete.

Holded will subtract the number of deleted invoices to maintain numerical correlation. See here to learn more about how to delete a sales invoice.


5. Eliminate trial products

Now that you've created your test products, follow these steps to delete them:

  1. In the list, select one or more products.

  2. Click Delete.


6. Import your products to Holded

Get started by importing your real products. This way, you can view them in Holded and manage them easily:

  1. Click the three-dot ( ⋮ ) button > Import Products.

  2. Select simple as the product type.

  3. Download and complete the import template in Excel format.

  4. Drag or upload the completed import template.
