For most companies, the Taxes section is one of the most important, as it is used to:

  • consult the taxes that have been charged and those that have been borne,

  • identify withholding taxes levied or incurred during a period, and

  • complete the tax forms to be filed with the tax authorities, among other tasks.

It is located in the Accounting section and is made up of:

  1. The VAT Table and the Tax Summary table.

  2. The models

  3. The tax calendar

1. About the tax tables

On the one hand, the VAT table summarises all VAT settlements and shows the period, the total input and output and the result of the settlement. On the other hand, the Tax Summary table shows the amounts allocated to a given tax item.

When consulting this table, remember that the result will vary depending on the period, as it is obtained from the tax keys( ) of your invoices. Likewise, by clicking on an operation in a table, you will be able to access the data described below:

  1. Transaction type: this is the title of the table and reflects the type of tax observed.

  2. Transactiondate: invoice date.

  3. Description: tax rate and the base on which it will be applied.

  4. Contact: name of the contact assigned to the invoice.

  5. Document: number of the document referred to.

  6. Subtotal: taxable amount of the invoice.

  7. Amount: amount resulting from the tax rate indicated on the invoice.

  8. Tax type: label to know if it is a sales or purchase tax.

  9. Date period: shows the range of dates for which you are consulting.

2. About tax forms

In Spain, tax forms are forms used to file tax returns with the Tax Agency. In these forms, information on the economic operations of a company or professional is detailed.

Currently, although there is a wide variety of forms, the most frequently used are those related to VAT, personal income tax and corporate taxes. Therefore, in the Tax section, you will find an extensive list of forms to activate according to your needs.

You can also select specific years to find taxes filed in past years, and even filter by their status (filed, pending, omitted or not filed).

And finally, remember that you can also automate the recording of your operations so that they are included in your forms. This will speed up your tax filing tasks. To automate the registration of your transactions, see the article Activate a tax form.

3. About the tax calendar

This is a copy of the calendar that the Tax Administration makes available to you to inform you of the deadlines for filing different taxes. This calendar will help you to have a forecast of the filing of the different forms.
