Does Square Payments create invoices automatically?

No. Square Payments only manages payments and transactions.

If you need sales made in Square to automatically generate invoices in Holded, you must use Square Invoicing.

Do I need a Square account to use it in Holded?

Yes. First you need to create a Square account.
Then you can connect your account from the Holded Store.

How do I connect Square with Holded?

See the article Square Payments: what it is and how to integrate it with Holded, where you’ll find the steps to activate and configure the integration.

Can I sync Square as if it were a bank?

No. Square in Holded does not work as a bank account.

It only appears as a payment method on your invoices.

What happens if I have multiple locations in Square?

Square allows you to create multiple locations (for example, different physical stores). However, the integration with Holded can only connect to one location.

To select it:

  • Go to Settings > Invoicing > Payment methods.

  • Click Square.

  • Select the location from the dropdown menu.

Why aren’t my payments showing up in Square?

This usually happens because:

  • The correct location has not been connected in Holded.

  • The integration has been disabled.

  • The connection with Square was not completed correctly.

Check the configuration and make sure the correct location is selected.

What transactions are synced with Square Payments?

The integration syncs:

  • Charges: payments made by customers.

  • Refunds: refunds issued to customers.

  • Payouts: transfers from Square to your bank account.

Can I use Square and Stripe at the same time?

Yes, you can connect both integrations in your Holded account.

However, when configuring payment options for each customer, you must choose which of the two payment methods will appear on their invoices. It is not possible to show Square and Stripe at the same time for the same customer.

What fees does Square charge for each payment?

The fees are defined by Square, not Holded.

They usually consist of a percentage per card transaction. You can check the updated details on the Square website.

When will I receive the money in my account?

Payments processed with Square are usually transferred the next business day to the bank account linked to your Square account.

Do my customers need a Square account to pay?

No. Your customers can pay by card directly from the Client Portal, without needing to register with Square.

Can I use Square in any country?

It depends on Square’s availability.

You should check whether Square is available in your country before integrating it with Holded.

What happens if I deactivate Square?

If you deactivate the integration, your invoices will no longer show Square as a payment option.

You will not lose the history of previous payments recorded in Holded.
