Holded cards allow you to centralize team payments, control expenses in real time, and define permissions according to the needs of each department. From Holded, you can request virtual or physical cards, set limits, review transactions, and manage their lifecycle.
Card types
Holded offers two types of cards to suit your business needs:
Virtual card:
It is automatically activated when you create it.
Ready to use instantly.
Ideal for online payments and subscriptions.
No physical card required.
Physical card:
Mastercard for payments in stores and establishments.
Allows ATM withdrawals (if permission is enabled).
Requires PIN activation with the first purchase or ATM withdrawal.
1. Request a card
You can request a card for yourself or someone on your team. To assign a card to someone, that person must be an active member of the Holded Wallet account. If they do not appear in the list of members, they will not be able to receive a card.
All cards are first created as virtual cards. If you need a physical card, you can request one later:
Go to Treasury > Accounts > Holded Wallet.
Find the Cards section and click on + New card.
Fill in the basic information:
Card name: for example, “Marketing Card.”
Cardholder: the person who will use the card.
Account: select the account where you want expenses made with that card to be automatically recorded.
Spending limit: set a limit and whether it will be daily, weekly, or monthly.
Click on Request to create it.
As soon as you create it, the card will immediately appear in two places:
Treasury > Accounts, in the list, next to your other accounts.
Treasury > Accounts > Holded Wallet, within the Cards block.
Virtual cards do not need to be activated. The cardholder will receive an email notifying them that they have been assigned a card. If the cardholder does not have access to Treasury, they can view and use it from the side menu, under My Cards.
2. Request a physical card
If you already have a virtual card and want a physical version, you can request one by following these steps:
Go to Treasury > Accounts > Holded Wallet. (If you don't have access to Treasury, go to My Cards from the side menu).
In the Cards section, under general information, you will see two blocks: Virtual Card and Physical Card. Under Physical Card, click on Request.
Enter the shipping address where you want to receive the card.
☝🏼 At the moment, we only ship within Spain.
Confirm by clicking on Request Card.
When the card arrives at your address, you can activate it by making a purchase using the PIN or withdrawing money from an ATM.
If your previous physical card is canceled, simply follow these steps again to request a new one.
3. View and manage your cards
Go to Treasury > Accounts > Holded Wallet and open the Cards section.
At the top, you will see general information: cardholder, associated account, accumulated spending, and monthly limit. Below, you will find two sections, Virtual Card and Physical Card, each with its status (Active, Ready to activate, Cancelled, or Blocked).
Click on any of them to display their details, including the full number and CVC.
3.1 View transactions
From Treasury > Accounts > Holded Wallet you can:
View all transactions associated with each card.
Reconcile transactions.
Identify expenses by user or team.
Check the limit used.
3.2 Display the PIN for your physical card
Go to Treasury > Accounts > Holded Wallet.
In the Cards section, open the three-dot menu (⋮) for your physical card.
Select Show PIN.
4. Edit card information
Settings are managed from the virtual card. Each card can be customized according to the team's needs:
Go to Treasury > Accounts > Holded Wallet.
In Cards, open the three-dot menu (⋮) for your virtual card and select Edit card. From there, you can modify:
Card name.
Associated accounting account.

Click Save to apply the changes.
5. Canceling a card
You can cancel any of your cards from the options menu. Please note:
If you cancel the virtual card, the associated physical card (if any) will also be canceled.
If you cancel only the physical card, the virtual card will remain active.
Cancel a virtual card
Go to Treasury > Accounts > Holded Wallet and open the Cards section.
On the virtual card, click on the three-dot menu (⋮) in the upper right corner.
Select Cancel virtual card.
Confirm the action.
When you cancel the virtual card, the linked physical card will automatically stop working.

On the physical card, open the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right.
Select Cancel physical card.
Confirm the action.
The associated virtual card will remain active. If you need to, you can request a new physical card later.
