1. Card activation

How do I activate my virtual card?

Your virtual card is ready to use as soon as it’s assigned to you.

I can’t activate my card — what should I do?

Make sure the card isn’t blocked, the associated account has enough balance, and the merchant accepts prepaid cards.
If the issue persists, contact your administrator.

2. Settings and usage

How can I change my card limit?

Only an administrator can update it from:
Treasury > Accounts > Holded Wallet > Cards using the three-dot menu (⋮).

Can I change the limit frequency (daily / weekly / monthly)?

Yes, as long as the administrator adjusts it in the card’s edit modal.

How can I see my PIN?

For physical cards, open the three-dot menu (⋮) in:
Treasury > Accounts > Holded Wallet > Cards and select Show PIN.

3. Security and blocks

Can I temporarily disable my physical card?

No. Temporary disabling isn’t available. The only option is cancellation, and it’s final — it cannot be undone.

I lost my card or it has been compromised — what should I do?

Cancel it immediately from Holded and request a replacement.

4. Renewal, expiration and replacements

My card is expiring soon — what do I need to do?

Before it expires, you’ll see a banner asking you to review or confirm your delivery address. If you don’t update anything, your card will still be renewed and sent automatically to the saved address.

Can I keep using my card after the expiration date?

No, it will automatically stop working.

Can I request a replacement if I lose my card?

Yes. If you lose your card, cancel it first and then request a new physical card.
This isn’t considered a “duplicate”—the old card is deactivated and a new one is issued.

Can I have more than one card?

Yes. You can have multiple cards if your administrator assigns them to you.

5. Payments and errors

Why was my Holded card payment declined?

Common reasons include:

  • The limit has been reached.

  • Insufficient balance.

  • Required permissions disabled.

  • The merchant does not accept prepaid cards.

  • Foreign-currency payment not allowed.

  • Temporary terminal (POS) error.

Can I pay with my phone using Apple Pay or Google Wallet?

Yes. You can add your Holded card (virtual or physical) to Apple Pay or Google Wallet and pay securely from your phone. Swan, the issuing entity, is compatible with both.

How do I add my Holded card to Apple Pay?

  1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone (Apple’s app—not to be confused with Holded Wallet).

  2. Tap + > Add Card.

  3. Select Debit or Credit Card.

  4. Scan the card or enter the data manually.

  5. Accept the terms and verify the card via SMS.

  6. Once confirmed, you can start paying with Apple Pay.

You can find more details here.

6. Virtual cards

What is a virtual card?

A non-physical card for secure online purchases.

Can I keep using my virtual card if I cancel the physical one?

Yes — they are independent.

What happens if I cancel my physical card?

The physical card stops working, but the virtual card remains active. You can request another physical card anytime.

What happens if I cancel my virtual card?

The physical card will also be deactivated.

7. Limits

What is the maximum amount I can spend?

It depends on the limit set by your administrator.

Are limits daily or monthly?

The administrator chooses the frequency.

8. Access and permissions

Do I need access to Holded Wallet to have a card?

No. You don’t need Treasury access to receive or use a card.
However, you must be an active member of the Holded Wallet account.

Can a user have more than one card?

Yes, multiple cards can be assigned if needed.
